Our Mission Statement

It is the mission of AAA to establish an academy that centers on Christ’s methods for education and redemption. It is our hope that our students prepare for a life of effective service in this world, that they are deeply grounded in our faith as Seventh-day Adventists, and that they live as witnesses of God’s redemptive power.

Philosophy of Christian Education

In the highest sense the work of education and the work of redemption are one, for in education, as in redemption, ‘other foundation can no man lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.’ 1 Corinthians 3:11, R.V. (Ed 30)

The first aim of true education is to “aid the student in comprehending [the principles of the character of God], and in entering into that relation with Christ which will make them a controlling power in the life” (Ed 30).

While the purpose of general education may be to prepare students for the future socially and academically, the higher purpose of Christian education is to equip these students spiritually, for this life and the life to come.

At Ascent Adventist Academy, we believe that our students are not only precious in the sight of God, but that they have an incredible amount of potential to change the world as ambassadors and representatives of Christ, ultimately working side by side with Him in the work of redemption.

Subsequently, we believe a crucial aspect of the methodology of true education is that of cooperation with the Master Teacher, Jesus Christ. Thus, our goal is to connect students with that Source of true wisdom in any and every subject that they learn, giving them ample opportunity inside and outside of the traditional classroom environment to grow academically, physically, socially, and spiritually.

We believe that education is holistic, including development of mind, body, and character, and we seek to demonstrate that in combining academic, vocational, and evangelistic training in our curriculum.

Most of all, our desire is to create an environment and a path that is conducive to not only allow students to connect with Christ, but to truly seek out what He would have them do with their lives.
